Apple announced a new version of iOS 8.4, and a new versions of iTunes will be released on June 30. These updates will be necessary for the new Apple Music service the company announced today.
Apple Music is a streaming music service, 24 hour worldwide radio station, and a social network for artists. Apple did not explain what would happen to iTunes, or iTunes Radio. It did not make clear how iTunes Match would be affected, or integrated into the new Music App. We will have to wait until it launches to know exactly what's going on.
Apple also failed to mention when a fix for the iMessage bug would be coming.
WWDC 2015 felt underwhelming to me. Apple certainly announced new features in iOS and OS X, as well as the new music service, but for some reason this did not feel like a typical Apple event. There were no surprises, and the features felt less than stellar. I guess it is hard to keep hitting it out of the park when the bar is set to high.
