Apple has acknowledged a small percentage of iPhone 5's have defective batteries. The company is now offering a free replacement battery program for those iPhones affected. Apple says only a small percentage of phones sold between September 2012 and January 2013 were affected, but the company is willing to replace your battery if your battery is defective.
If you think your iPhone 5's battery is affected, head on over to the link below and enter your serial number into the form. Apple will determine if your phone qualifies for the replacement battery. If your phone qualifies, repairs will be done at Apple retail stores, authorized service providers, or through Apple tech support.
The program begins today in the US, and on 8/29 in China.
