More leaks are coming out ahead of the iPhone 5S event on September, 10. We've heard for months that the new iPhone would include a fingerprint reader to authenticate users, and in the future confirm mobile payments. We have not seen any solid proof of the fingerprint reader until now.
French website Nowhereelse.fr has published a photo of the rumored home button fingerprint scanner with ribbon cable attached. The ribbon cable seems to include a square box in the ribbon cable and nobody seems to know what it is. It seems likely that it is part of the fingerprint scanner, but that's just speculation.
We won't know for sure whether the fingerprint scanner is a reality until the iPhone 5S announcement. Apple is set to announce the next iPhone on September 10.
