According to DigiTimes, who doesn't always get things right, Apple has upped their orders of the iPhone from about 50 million to over 56 million. Interestingly, Apple upped their orders for Q4 2011, but lowered orders for Q3.
The fact that Apple has lowered orders for Q3 could indicate the launch of the iPhone 5 in October. Apple would probably sell fewer phones in Q3, but then make a big push for Christmas in Q4.
DigiTimes says total shipments of iPhones (3GS, 4, 5?) in 2011 will hit 95 million units.
"iPhone 5 orders for the third quarter of 2011 have been lowered from seven million units to 5.5-6 million units, while fourth-quarter orders have been raised from 14 million units to more than 20 million units, the sources pointed out. Total orders for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4 CDMA for the third quarter exceed 20 million units, and fourth-quarter orders have been reduced to eight million units, the sources indicated."
