Apple's iOS 5.0.1 update was supposed to fix battery drain issues with the iPhone 4 and 4S. Although some customers report increased battery life post iOS 5.0.1, many users have flooded Apple's forums to report worse battery performance after the update. Apple has recently issued a statement to AllThingsD.
If you're still experiencing battery issues you should drain your battery to zero, and recharge. You might also try a full backup and restore which essentially wipes your phone. I updated my iPhone 4 via iTunes instead of using the OTA update and I haven't had any issues. I'm not sure if there's a difference, but the download file was 790MB instead of 55MB for the OTA update.
How is your battery performing? Any issues? Let us know in the comments.
“The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices,” the company said in a statement given to AllThingsD. “We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”
