Google's gPhone coming to T-Mobile

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - April 26, 2008

T-Mobile is preparing to ship its first cell phones based on Google's Android operating system this year. The release of the gPhone is expected to bring an "avalanche of innovation from users - and radical changes to what customers expect and demand."

Joe Sims, vice president and general manager of T-Mobile's broadband and new business division, said he had already seen prototypes of the company's Android-based phone and says he's "impressed." Sims also says they will have more than one product based on Google's Android OS.

No word has been given on what type of handset will run Android, but stay tuned. This could be very interesting.
