It has been widely reported that Apple will produce a larger 12.9-inch iPad sometime this year. The current rumor is it will be called the iPad Air or iPad Pro, but whatever the name, it looks to be unlike any previous iPad before it. According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is actually looking at including a USB 3.0 port. If the report is true it would be the first time Apple included any other connectivity port on an iPad.
The report seems to suggest Apple's larger iPad will be more like a computer, and a direct competitor to Microsoft's Surface tablets.
In addition, Apple is said to be looking into ports for external keyboards and mice? If true, Apple is definitely changing its stripes.
