Apple has released a couple of updates for iOS and OS X. The iOS update takes iOS 8 to version 8.1.3. The update has a few fixes in it, but is not the major update to version 8.2 that we have been waiting for. One of the key features of this update is it allows future updates to take up less space. Users with 16GB iPhones need this feature desperately.
iOS 8.1.3 changes:
Reduces the amount of storage required to perform a software update
Fixes an issue that prevented some users from entering their Apple ID password for Messages and Face Time
Addresses an issue that caused Spotlight to stop displaying app results
Fixes an issue which prevented multitasking gestures from working on iPad.
Adds new configuration options for education standardized testing.
The OS X update takes OS X Yosemite to version 10.10.2. The update has a fix for WiFi and and Spotlght as well as a few other fixes. Unfortunately, OS X Yosemite is still very buggy and I'm disappointed this update does not address any of the other bugs I have been experiencing.
OS X 10.10.2 changes:
Resolves an issue that may cause Wi-Fi to disconnect
Resolves an issue that may cause web pages to load slowly
Fixes an issue that caused Spotlight to load remote email content when the preference was disabled in Mail
Improved audio and video sync when using Bluetooth headphones
Adds the ability to browse iCloud Drive in Time Machine
Improves VoiceOver speech performance
Resolves an issue that causes VoiceOver to echo characters when entering text on a web page
Addresses an issue that may cause the input method to switch languages unexpectedly
Improves stability and security in Safari
