Typo, the company backed by American Idol's Ryan Seacrest, brought a BlackBerry-like keyboard to the iPhone for a short time, but was sued by BlackBerry for patent infringement and forced to take its keyboard off the market. Instead of simply shutting down, they have redesigned Typo to get around some of the legal issues and the company has now announced Typo 2. The new keyboard case is up for pre-order now.
Typo 2 is a little less "BlackBerry" this time around. It still has a backlit keyboard, auto capitalization, and a battery indicator. It is expected to start shipping in September.
