What do you do when your year old iPhone explodes and oozes acid? You take it to the Apple Store and hope they will replace it. For New York marketing manager Shibani Bhujle, Apple said no thanks. Ms. Bhujle says her iPhone exploded and oozed acid when she tried to remove the battery. Yikes.
Bhujle says she started to panic and so she tried to remove the battery. She finally got it out and it was swollen with acid coming out of it. She took it to the Apple Store but got no resolution. My guess is she probably should have left the phone in tact and she would have had better luck at Apple. After just one year they probably would have replaced it.

“My iPhone was on a coffee table and randomly the power went off,” Bhujle told VentureBeat via email. “It was not on a charger or charging. In the next minute, I smelled fumes and picked up my iPhone, which was extremely hot.”
