I've been using my iPad to write more and more using iWork's Pages. I started using my iPad because I would take it to the gym to watch Netflix while riding a bike. After I finished my workouts I would sit at a table outside the gym and do email. Then it occurred to me that I could do much more than email, but typing on the iPad itself was a hassle. I purchased an Apple Wireless Keyboard and I was in business. Typing on the iPad was a dream and I got a lot done, but using the iPad as a computer wasn't so easy because of the touch navigation. It turns out Apple was right when they said that using a touch screen on a laptop isn't as easy as it sounds. For some reason your arm gets tired.
The fix for this mess is for Apple to release a mouse driver that would work with a mouse or a touchpad. That would enable me to use the iPad more like a computer than a tablet. I know Apple thinks we should let go of some of our old habits, but there is no way around it. Typing on a physical keyboard is better than typing on a tablet. It just is.
So what do you say Apple? Don't make me jailbreak my iPad to get a mouse driver. Provide one in iOS for us. Oh, and while you're at it please also provide more keyboard shortcuts so we can launch apps and navigate with a keyboard too.
