Business and enterprise security company Trend Micro commissioned a survey of over 400 senior IT professionals throughout the US, UK, and Germany about BYOD (bring your own device) programs that allow employees to use their own mobile devices for work. The survey was conducted by research firm Decisive Analytics.
The survey found that iOS ranked number one in security, while BlackBerry came in second.
The results are surprising considering BlackBerry devices have long been widely seen as the most secure mobile devices in the world. You may remember that when President Barrack Obama was elected there was a lot of discussion about whether or not the Secret Service would allow him to continue using a BlackBerry. They did, and they found a way to make it secure.
It looks like the gadget world is continuing to change at a rapid pace and Apple has done a fantastic job playing catch up. Now it is RIM who needs to play catch up and provide users with more incentive to use their products. Relying on old impressions about their security just isn't cutting it anymore.

Asked to rank the abovementioned operating systems for their security and manageability, iOS fared best, followed by Blackberry in second place, with Android close behind ranked third. Symbian came in fourth, with Windows in last place.
