Instagram is a hit! The photo sharing app has hit the 27 million user mark even though it's only available on iOS. Co-founder Kevin Systrom told TechCrunch that, "of all the users who have been active in the last week, 67 percent of them used the app yesterday." That's a pretty active service if you ask me.
Systrom showed attendees at SXSW a version of Instagram running on Android. The Android app is said to be coming soon as it is in private beta now.
Android users have been requesting an Instagram app for awhile, but considering the service is fairly new, the wanted to make sure their platform was rock solid before expanding. It's time to expand and Android users are about to join in on the fun.
