We all knew that Apple is a very secretive company and keeps information very close to its vest, but we didn't know they created fake projects for new hires. In an interview relating to the sale of his new book, Adam Lashinsky claims Apple sometimes assigns new hires to fake projects until they are confident they can be trusted.
"A friend of mine who's a senior engineer, he works on -- or did work on -- fake products I'm sure for the first part of his career, and interviewed for 9 months," the employee said. "It's intense."
Mr. Lashinky gave a sit down interview at LinkedIn headquarters to promote his new book, "Inside Apple: How America's Most Admired--and Secretive--Company Really Works." The interview is a must see for anyone interested in understanding how Apple works as a company.
