Is the Verizon iPhone living up to expectations? According to BGR, it's definitely not. BGR has some inside sources that claim the sales are coming in a little below what was expected. They have published the actual numbers and while it would be impressive for another phone, it's just "okay" for Apple.
BGR says, "online pre-orders between Verizon and Apple amounted to around 550,000 units. We also have some statistics on who’s buying Verizon iPhones to share with you: 30% of people buying Verizon iPhones were Android users, just over 25% of people buying iPhone 4 were BlackBerry users, and only 14% of people buying the Verizon iPhone were AT&T iPhone owners."
We'll have to stay tuned to see how Apple and Verizon spin this. I was never a believer in a great exodus from AT&T to Verizon at the jump. Too many people are under contract with AT&T and would not be willing to change carriers until their contract is up.
