Yahoo announces Livestand iPad magazine

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - February 11, 2011

Yahoo is set to launch an iPad magazine of its own, to take on The Daily. The new Yahoo Livestand will be highly interactive and visual, and will be available in the first half of the year.

Livestand is a digital newsstand that’s always fresh and effortlessly personalized. Sit back and enjoy the news, entertainment, and local information you love, right on your tablet. The more you use it, the more it gets to know you.

Coming soon to tablets.

According to Wired, users will find "a mix of content from Yahoo, including its popular news, sports, finance and celebrity sites, as well as content from other media companies that also decide to publish on the platform, such as Surfer magazine."

Yahoo is hoping to create a platform that will attract advertisers. They will entice advertisers with the ability to "combine the interactivity of a tablet with a brand building, TV-like, ad experience."
