The Syrian government has apparently banned the use of iPhones in their country in response to protestors uploading photos and videos to social networks. The order, apparently issued by the customs department of the Syrian finance ministry, bans the use and importing of iPhones.
Technology has helped protestors get the word out about government crack downs on civilians and it looks like the Syrian government doesn't like the exposure.
Interestingly, other smartphones have not been banned.
