Rumor - Apple may release two iPads next year

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - November 03, 2011

According to a recent report from Digitimes (grain of salt), Apple will release two iPads next year. According to Digitimes sources Apple will release an iPad 2S, and an iPad 3.

Apple’s new generation iPad will enter mass production soon with the launch set for March 2012, according to sources from the upstream supply chain; however, the sources revealed that internally Apple does not view the new iPad product as iPad 3, but rather an upgraded iPad 2 and the real iPad 3 will not be launched until the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest.

Digitimes doesn't always get things right so I'm skeptical at this point. When has Apple released two products in the same year like they suggest? If the rumor is correct that an iPad 2S is coming, I would expect an iPad 3 to come out the following year. The problem for Apple is the world expects them to keep blowing us away year after year. We definitely expect an iPad 3 to be the next iPad.
