Apple to add email-based FaceTime calls to iOS 4.1

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - August 09, 2010

Apple is apparently going to add the ability to make email-based FaceTime calls in the near future. According to MacRumors the new feature already exists in the latest beta of iOS. It has been widely believed that the next version of the iPod Touch would have a front facing camera that would allow FaceTime calls so email-based calls makes sense.

The photo to the right shows just how easy it would be to make a call. What if someone has more than one email address though? Just saying...

Apple will supposedly hold an iPod event either this month or next so it looks like the new feature will be on the way soon. Stay tuned..
