Skinomi TechSkin Apple iPhone 4 Screen Protector

Accessory Reviews - By: pdaBlast! Staff - July 09, 2010

We got the Skinomi TechSkin for the iPhone 4 today and it does a pretty good job of protecting the iPhone 4. What can you say when reviewing a screen protector right? It works.

The Skinomi TechSkin is thicker than most screen protectors and feels "rubbery." I'd say it's in the same class as the Zagg invisibleSHEILD protectors, although the Zagg protectors seem to be a little thicker.

Skinomi ships the protector, a lint free cloth, and a spray bottle containing some solution to help you get the protector on without a hitch. I found it to be easy to apply and I only had to try it once. I would recommend applying this in the bathroom with the shower running if you have dust in your house. This always seems to work for me and I end up with a perfect application of my screen protectors. Not a single spec of dust.

The protection is solid and you are not likely to get scratches on your phone if you have this thing on there. However, I would not recommend this screen protector for use with Apple's bumper case. The Skinomi protector is cut a little short so the bumper sits right at the edge and causes it to peel up. I tried several things to get the bumper to lay on there nicely but it's just not going to happen. That' a real bummer. If they would cut the protector just a little larger it would be perfect.

There is some orange peel when you look at the phone, but most of the microbubbles and cloudiness caused by the solution disappeared after several hours.

I would highly recommend the Skinomi TechSkin to anyone who will not be using it with the Apple Bumper. After all, it provides good protection and the price is right.
