Several iPhone 4 users have complained about a yellow spot on their brand new Retina display. The news started coming out a couple of days ago as many users were complaining of a discoloration on their brand new iPhone 4. It appears this may not be a big problem as a user at the Apple Insider forums has posted a message that might explain it:
"Apple is using a bonding agent called Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 to bond the layers of glass. Apparently, Apple (or more likely Foxconn) is shipping these products so quickly that the evaporation process is not complete. However, after one or two days of use, especially with the screen on, will complete the evaporation process and the yellow “blotches” will disappear.
How do I know? I was involved in pitching Z-6011 to Apple."
So if you've picked up a new iPhone and have this issue, wait a few days to see if it clears up. If it doesn't, let us know.
