Steve Jobs says Apple started working on the iPad before the iPhone

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - June 02, 2010

Apple CEO Steve Jobs spoke at the D8 conference yesterday and explained the origin of the iPad.

The world has assumed that after developing the iPhone Apple decided to take the next step and create the ipad. Jobs says it actually happened the other way around. Apple started working on a tablet computer years ago, and during that process Jobs realized some of the technologies they developed (like multitouch) could be used to make a phone. So, Apple ditched the tablet and designed the iPhone. Once the iPhone was selling like crazy Apple then turned their focus back on the tablet and came up with the iPad.
