The next version of the iPhone will be slightly larger than the original iPhone and will sport a larger display. MacRumors has posted some pictures of iPhone 4G parts supposedly from an iPhone repair shop. The parts indicate the new iPhone will be about 1/4" taller than the iPhone 3GS.
"Also present on the new front panel part is a "reflective surface" located just above the earpiece slot on the iPhone. It is not immediately obvious what the feature might be, and iResQ offers no speculation on its function beyond suggesting that it is a likely location for a proximity sensor, although that would not explain the need for the mirrored surface to be visible on the front of the device."
While it's interesting to imagine the possibilities, these pictures look interesting but they should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt. There's no official word that these parts are in fact from an iPhone. Also, why would these parts show up at a repair shop before the phone is even announced?
