Turn Your iPhone into a Barcode Scanner with RedLaser

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - May 15, 2009

If you have an iPhone you now have a barcode reader. RedLaser for the iPhone turns your iPhone into a handy tool for reading barcodes. Don't worry, the software doesn't use a laser despite its name. Instead it uses the iPhone's camera to take a photo of any barcode which the application will automatically convert to product info for online price searching.

The picture must be taken at the right distance which can be set by using the on-screen guide.

The app isn't perfect, but does work. It is currently available in the App Store for $1.99.
