Apple iPhone App Store a Hit

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - July 10, 2008

Steve Jobs tells the USATODAY that the Apple App Store is already a hit with developers. Jobs intended to open the App Store with 200 titles but it's already up to 500 titles.

Jobs says, "The reaction has been so strong," he says. "So many developers responded." With 500 programs launching internationally today, "This is the biggest launch of my career," says Jobs.

Apple decided to open up the iPhone OS to developers much like Palm and Windows Mobile have in the past. This move allows developers to write programs for the iPhone platform.

Initially people are buying the iPhone for the speed and price but eventually, applications they need to be productive will make the difference.
